Hello Friends,
Since I recently purchased a Photo Editing App for my Blackberry, I just can’t stop taking pictures of everything that seems interesting to me. Most of the pictures were taken in the Emirates and in Germany… thought I’d share some of them with you guys…
The Lively Hood Series: Adam’s Rib
A collective effort by Canadian filmmakers James Arthurs and Cam Roden (Penn & Panache), The Lively Hood Series seeks to tell the inspired stories of craftsmen and women operating in Toronto. This first instalment features boat builder Marc Russell of Gull Lake Boat Works, who specializes in custom-building canoes and kayaks for discerning enthusiasts. Adam’s Rib artfully highlights how a man’s work defines him, specifically Russel’s manual and tireless quest to build the “near perfect” cedar strip canoe. Piping in the original guitar and harmonica tones of filmmaker Arthurs himself, this short was shot with Canon 5D MKII, Canon 7D, Canon 24-105mm 4, Canon 85mm 1.2, Canon 50mm 1.4, Rokinon 35mm 1.4, Tokina 11-16 2.8.

Peter and Harry Brant on Doing a Reality TV Show, Being Like Hannah Montana, and Climbing Palazzo Walls
At Thursday night’s event celebrating Jitrois’ new pop-up store in SoHo (which is super chic and inviting, btw) I had the pleasure of talking to the hosts of the night: Brothers Peter and Harry Brant, who you may know as “the world’s luckiest teenage homosexuals” (according to Gawker, anyway).
Indeed, there’s no doubting that Peter, who is 18, and Harry, who is 15, lead charmed lives. The sons of billionaire Peter Brant and legendary supermodel Stephanie Seymour, the brothers are lacking neither in looks, style, or money. Despite their youth, they’ve travelled the world, rubbed shoulders with some serious VIPs–and they’ve got a boatload of hilarious anecdotes to show for it.

The Best High School Graduation Gifts for the Class of 2012
Last week, we rounded up the best accessory gifts for all the recent college grads in your life. In the comments, one of you asked us to make some suggestions for high school grads, and because we like to consider ourselves a full-service blogging operation here, we felt compelled to oblige. Almost any huge life change – graduation, moving to a new city, having a baby – impacts the way a woman interacts with the things that she carries every day, and I like to think that the best way to ready someone for a change like that is to get her the sartorial equipment she needs in order to settle in to her new life.
Thus, we present you with our picks for the best high school grad gifts. Leaving home for the first time is nerve-racking enough, but there are some things you can do to make sure your grad is prepared to take on college and hit the ground running. Not to mention, if you get her a nice overnight bag, maybe she’ll come home more often. (That’s a pretty good theory, I think. Write that one down.) Best of all, all of our picks are under $600.
Hear me out on the Marc Jacobs Quilted Key Pouch, because I can’t recommend it heartily enough. Entrance to almost all modern college dorms is done either by showing your school ID to a desk clerk or swiping it through a card reader, not to mention that school IDs are usually what gain you entrance to dining halls and school sporting events. At my school (UGA, Go Dawgs), you couldn’t even buy textbooks off campus without presenting that holiest of holy cards.
That means it’s important to have your ID handy at all times, lest you essentially lock yourself out of your own life without even losing your keys; attaching one of these pouches to your key ring keeps it with you. I’ve used one of these Marc Jacobs cardholders since my freshman year in college, and eight years later (yeesh), I still have the exact same one on my key ring. I had a cardholder from a different brand prior to getting this one, but it only lasted a few months because the zipper came loose and would slide open in my purse; this one locks in place, which is a much safer setup to hold ID cards. Buy through Barneys for $175.

Kate Moross x adidas Consortium “Your Story” Collection Baltic Cup Further Look
Jim Thompson, DJ Muro, Aloe Blacc, Quote and London-based creative Kate Moross are pivotal parts of adidas Consortium’s Olympic-themed “Your Story” collection. As seen here, Kate Moross’s reworking of the Baltic Cup subtly marries her love of geometry with the iconic Olympic ring colors. Using premium suede gray uppers with trademark triangle motifs in an ingeniously reflective material, the young illustrator, filmmaker and designer from London manages to give these handball court shoes an updated sleek minimalist feel. Kim Kardashian Is Headed to Kannes Cannes with Kanye West 2012 air jordans
It looks like the Cannes International Film Festival might soon be known as the Kannes International Film Festival. As reported by Pitchfork, Kanye West (the newly minted Mr. Kim Kardashian– by us, right now) is set to premiere a “short art film” in the south of France next Wednesday, May 23. Entitled “Cruel Summer,” Kanye’s newest non-musical venture is apparently an “immersive seven-screen experience, unlike anything West has attempted before.”
Who knows what this latest foray into the world of multimedia art could mean for Kanye West’s Parisian design aspirations (which have been universally panned by everyone who matters), but we know one thing: Kim Kardashian is koming to Kannes!
